A gold mine in the south of Burkina Faso. The life of who, as teenager Rasmane and his peers, works everyday from morning to evening in the unhealthy mines without any protection a hundred meters underground. Creating an incredible relation with those around him, Sangaré shows young protagonists both at work and in rare moments of leisure, while cooking, eating together, talking about themselves, their aspirations, their growth experiences and their families.

Boubacar Sangaré (San, Mali, 1985) graduated both in law and cinema. He worked as a lawyer and as a director. Between 2012 and 2015 he produced four short films. In 2015, he directed a film for television with Gidéon Vink, Une révolution africaine, on the ten days that led to the fall of Blaise Compaoré’s regime in Burkina Faso. A Golden Life is his first feature-film. In 2011 acts in Malian Ibrahima Touré?s Toiles d?araignées.
