IL CINEMA PER I DIRITTI DI CHI LAVORA
This year Job Film Days pays homage to Francesca Comencini, one of the most personal voices of contemporary Italian Cinema, ever since her debut in 1984 with Pianoforte. A film and television director (she has directed some episodes of Gomorra: the TV series and Luna Nera while currently working on the Django series), screenwriter and author, Comencini’s work often deals with issues related to the world of work. By screening three of her feature films made between 2004 and 2012 – Mi piace lavorare (Mobbing), In fabbrica, Un giorno speciale – the goal is to reflect on past and current working conditions through the gaze of a director that is comfortable with passing from fiction to documentary and archive material: tools to talk about social and civil differences from post-WWII to current day, youth aspirations, abuse at the workplace, etc.
The masterclass on Wednesday, September 28th will be an opportunity to talk and discuss with Francesca Comencini on the world of work, not only analyzing her three movies presented but also exploring broader, more transversal themes that range from the representation of criminal work in Gomorra and aspects of cinematographic work.
