KINRA (Perù, 2023, 157′) Friday, September 27, at 9 pm, Cinema Teatro Monterosa, Via Brandizzo, 65 Pre-opening Job Film Days 2024 in collaboration with Cinema Teatro Monterosa, Festival de Cine de Lima and Cinetrab. Job Film Days presents Friday, September 27 at 9 pm, at the Monterosa Cinema Theater, a new partner of the Festival, the film Kinra by Peruvian director, screenwriter and cinematographer Marko Panatonik (Peru, 2023, 157′). An event that will lead us to reflect on the renunciations one is forced to make in order to work, sometimes involving important spheres of life such as one’s family and roots. The collaboration with the Cinema Teatro Monterosa adds an important piece to the geography of Job Film Days, bringing the Festival to one of the historic theaters in northern Turin, a garrison for the cultural life of the area and an example of how cinema can be community. Boris Lojkine’s third fiction feature film, The Story of Souleymane was screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in the “Un certain regard” section, receiving the Prix du Jury award, the Best Male Actor Award and the Fipresci International Critics’ Award. The film recounts the wait for the asylum interview, a necessary step to obtain documents and start a new life.
