Job Film Days 2022 Award Ceremony – Closing movie

The closing evening of the third edition of Job Film Days will take place on Sunday, October 2nd at 20:30 at Cinema Massimo. During the evening, there will be an award ceremony for the two competitive sections of the festival, the international contest dedicated to documentaries and fiction feature films that talk about various aspects of the world of work, the “Lavoro 2022″ JFD – INAIL International Film Award, and the contest dedicated to short films made in the European Union by under 40 directors who talk about “emerging” jobs and the challenges of contemporary work, the “Job for the Future” – Turin Chamber of Commerce Award.

There will also be the award ceremony of the film subjects on themes related to the world of work invited to Job Film Day 2022’s “Dall?idea al soggetto” (from the idea to the scriptment) writing workshop .  The workshop was organized by Job Film Days in collaboration with the Blanderate and Videocummunity Associations . The prizes are supported by the Turin Order of Labor Consultants and Aurora Penne .

The public will also be able to attend the screening of the closing movie La Caja by Lorenzo Vigas. 

The evening will be hosted by Stefania Rosso (actress).

Admission methods: admission is reserved to guests. Nonetheless, there will be a number of tickets available for purchase by the public, both online and at the movie theater’s ticket office.

Hatzin is barely a teenager when he is called to retrieve the remains of his missing father found in a mass grave. Leaving Mexico City, where he lives with his grandmother, the boy reaches the place where his father worked in the northern part of the country. On arrival, he meets Mario who looks very much like his late parent. Thus he gets to know the reality of migrant and illegal workers and begins to doubt what really happened to his father, whom he seems to know so little.

Lorenzo Vigas (Mérida, Venezuela, 1967) studied film at New York University. In 2004, he directed the short movie Los elefantes nunca olvidan, presented at Cannes Festival’s Semaine de la Critique. Vigas made his feature film debut with Desde allà, written with Guillermo Arriaga and winner of the Golden Lion at Venice in 2015. La Caja, his latest movie, was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2021.
