Having to support four children and a husband who struggles to find a job, Eli crosses Rome to go to the bar where she works as a bartender, underpaid and under the table. Vale, on the other hand, is a performer and dancer who works in disco clubs. Connected to a deep sense of sisterhood, both women find strength in each other to face everyday difficulties and challenges. An act of resistance to survive the harshness of the Eternal City.

Daniele Vicari (Casel di Tora, Italy, 1967) is a director and screenwriter. Graduated from La Sapienza University in Rome and collaborator as a film critic for important magazines like «Cinema Nuovo», during the Nineties he made his first short and medium-length films dedicated to social and political documentation. With his first fiction feature film Velocità massima (2002), presented in competition at the Venice International Film Festival, Daniele Vicari won the David di Donatello award as best new director. In 2005 he took part in the Cannes Festival with L’orizzonte degli eventi, while Diaz – Don’t Clean Up This Blood (2012), dedicated to the well-known events of Genoa’s G8, was presented at the Berlin Film Festival. Daniele Vicari subsequently directed some short films, amongst them, tra cui La nave dolce, Sole cuore amore and Il giorno e la notte.
